Did Ole Miss Have Their Quarterback of the Future on Campus?
Ole Miss had a top quarterbacks on campus this weekend, one of which is an SMU commit. Four-star Keelon Russell is ranked the No.7 prospect per 247Sports. The Texas QB is a top priority for Lane Kiffin, especially having missed out on Husan Longstreet.
Ole Miss has taken a big step in the race for the talented dual-threat quarterback. David Johnson of 247Sports Inside the Rebels made a crystal ball prediction that Ole Miss would flip Russell. However, Alabama and the home state of Texas are also teams to watch if Russell decides to flip his commitment.
Four-Star Wide Receivers Impressed With Ole Miss Program
The Rebels had two four-star wide receivers on weekend visits, one of whom has already committed to the Rebels. WR Jerome Myles, out of Utah, announced his commitment to Ole Miss late yesterday evening. Myles is ranked the No. 18 receiver per 247Sports.
The other receiver who visited the Ole Miss campus was Samari Reed. Another four-star receiver, Reed is a Florida native who has Ole Miss high on his list of top schools, alongside Penn State and Florida State.
Ole Miss Look at Big Guys in the Trenches For Weekend Visits
Two big interior offensive linemen, Max Buchanan and Henry Fenuku, were in Oxford on Saturday. Both linemen are among the top 30 ranked IOL players per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Buchanan released his top six schools before the visit, with Ole Miss making the list.
Fenuku talked to Zach Berry of OMSpirit at On3 about his visit to offensive line coach John Garrison. “He tells me not only what I’m doing right on film, but he also says what I’m doing wrong. I want to hear that, not all coaches would do that. I want to be coached.”
