Ole Miss Keep the Momentum With Commitment of Four-Star Wide Receiver Out of Jaxson Dart's High School
Ole Miss Football received another commitment from the 2025 recruiting class. Four-star wide receiver Jerome Myles announced his commitment late evening on April 29.
Coach Lane Kiffin, renowned as the 'Portal King ,' is proving his prowess extends beyond that title. His exceptional recruiting skills have always been a strength, and he is once again demonstrating this with his impressive work in the 2025 recruitment class.
On April 29, Kiffin and the Rebels landed their seventh commit in the 2025 class, with wide receiver Jerome Myles announcing his commitment on social media..
Myles attends the same high school as current Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart previously did. After his weekend visit to Oxford, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver committed to the Rebels. The Utah prospect is ranked the No.18 wide receiver and No. 193 overall player in 247Sports rankings.
Myles chose Ole Miss over his home state, Utah, Tennessee, Washington, and other schools. The athletic wide receiver was seen as a priority for Kiffin and the coaching staff, and on this weekend's visit, there was a real emphasis on making him a Rebel.
Could We See a Stronger Recruiting Class in 2025 Because of the New Coaches Hired?
Ole Miss has started strongly in the opening third of this calendar year when recruiting 2025 prospects. The Rebels currently have a top-20 recruiting class per On3, and the commitments keep rolling in alongside the talented transfer portal class.
The recent staff hires over the last few months are helping with recruiting. Wide receivers coach George McDonald is one of those new coaches coming in from Illinois on January 27.
McDonald was seen as a good recruiter in Illinois, and that looks to be a valid skill, given his early work with the Rebels. McDonald has backed up Kiffin, helping him land two talented wide receivers from the 2025 class, the latest Jerome Myles.
On top of McDonald, Ole Miss brought in tight ends coach Joe Cox on January 28, who has also had early success on the recruiting trail.
Other new staff members, such as assistant director of player personnel DJ Mann, should be crucial to future recruiting. Mann has heavy ties to the state of Texas and is working hard to gain a high reputation with high schools, especially in Texas.
College football fans see Ole Miss as a team that is using this 2024 season as their all-in year. However, Kiffin is building much more than that, with the program looking to be one of the best around for a long time.
