Yesterday, it was confirmed that a second 2026 recruit from California would be in Oxford this coming weekend for the opening game against Furman. Four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford will be on the Ole Miss sidelines alongside his high school teammate and quarterback.

Four-star quarterback Luke Fahey announced he would be in Oxford a few days ago. Now, his Mission Viejo High School teammate, Spafford, will be joining him. Ole Miss is looking for a double package commit.

Both California players are ranked in the top 30 in their state and the top 15 at their positions. They have already harbored plenty of interest and had offers from some big programs, including Auburn, Kentucky, and Washington, to name a few. Spafford saw a crystal ball prediction input back in July to Oregon.

Fahey and Spafford have had recent visits to Oxford over the summer, and more than likely they will be on campus again after the week 1 game. The two Mission Viejo High School players join a number of quality recruits in Oxford this Saturday, including 2025 safety, Ladarian Clardy, cornerback Robert Tyson, and plenty of others.

Ole Miss football looking for its first 2026 commitment

Ole Miss is still waiting on its first 2026 commit but has been pushing for several players over the last several months. Quarterbacks Luke Fahey and Ryder Lyons, as well as defensive linemen Lamar Brown and JaReylan McCoy, are some of the Rebels' top targets.

We should soon see a 2026 commitment for the program. Ole Miss is very good at selling what Oxford has to offer during the season due to the fans and the buzz of college football on the campus. We may see a surprise commit after the Furman game.
