Ole Miss football predicted to reach the SEC Championship game by 247Sports analyst

The SEC became much more difficult in 2024, adding Texas and Oklahoma from the Big 12. Divisions have been scrapped, meaning the top two teams in the 16-team conference will head to Atlanta for the SEC Championship game.

Ole Miss is among several teams with the chance of making the SEC Championship game, something the program has failed to achieve. With head coach Lane Kiffin's transfer portal efforts, the Rebels are hoping for just that, as well as a playoff spot.

Brad Crawford, an analyst at 247Sports, has predicted that Ole Miss will make the 2024 SEC Championship game, where they will take on one of the new boys, Texas. Crawford predicted Ole Miss would take the second spot over Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee, all five teams having 10-2 records.

Crawford had Ole Miss in the tie-breaker for the other teams, but it all was a little messy. Despite losing to LSU and Oklahoma, he had them beating Georgia in Oxford. With the other teams dropping games against the other 10-2 teams, Ole Miss made it to Atlanta in his projections.

Ole Miss would be happy with the 10-2 record. However, an 11-1 record is attainable, looking at the schedule. If the Rebels can make it to the SEC Championship game and win it, we would probably see a first-round bye in the 12-team playoff.

With predictions for the new season continuing to roll in, fans just want to see the Rebels on the field and achieve greatness in 2024. There are only 74 days until we see Ole Miss take on Furman in Oxford.
