Ole Miss football fans express disappointment with 2024 kick times & windows announcement

Ole Miss fans discovered on May 30 that the 2024 edition of the Egg Bowl would be moving from Thanksgiving to Black Friday. The same day, the kick times for the first free games of the season were revealed. Today, the rest of the schedule kick times and windows were announced for the 2024 season.

The Rebels had a high percentage of night games during the 2023 season. In 2024, it looks like it has swung the other way, with five of their Southeastern Conference in the morning or afternoon window. A surprise to fans, who showed their disappointment on social media.

It wasn't just Ole Miss fans disappointed with the revealed kick times. Ole Miss's first SEC game is at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium against Kentucky on Saturday, November 28, with the kickoff set for 11:00 a.m. C.T., the Wildcat fans, showed their unhappiness with how much tailgate time they are getting.

What are the kick times & windows for Ole Miss in 2024?

Ole Miss will play five SEC games in the early windows while having just one guaranteed night game on the road at LSU. Georgia and South Carolina could be flexed into the night window.

Television game windows are as follows:

Early:11 a.m. to noon CT start·   Afternoon: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. CT start·   Night: 5 to 7 p.m. CT start·   Flex: Games flexed between the afternoon (2:30-3:30 p.m.) and night (5-7 p.m.) windows

The two flex game windows against South Carolina and Georgia could be afternoon or night games. If the SEC decides that the home game against the Bulldogs will be an afternoon kickoff, then Ole Miss will have zero regular season night games at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in 2024.

It would be further disappointing for the Rebels fans. However, the kick times won't stop the fans from coming out in force; with season tickets all sold and the student section expected to be packed out, the noise will be loud whatever the time.
