Ole Miss football will be hoping that December 8 will be an important day in their calendar in 2024

The 12-team College Football Playoff is all the talk heading into the 2024 season. With eight extra spots, teams that never thought it would be a realistic chance now dream of participating in the CFP.

The official release of dates, kick times, and broadcast information for the 2024-25 College Football Playoff was announced earlier today. The first round will start on Friday, December 20, with the National Championship game on Monday, January 20.

One quarterfinal will be on New Year's Eve, with the other three on New Year's Day, all broadcasting on ESPN. The Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl, and Cotton Bowl will be the quarterfinal games.

The two early games in the first round on Saturday, December 21, will clash with two NFL games, Texans-Chiefs and Ravens-Steelers. It will be interesting to see the viewing numbers the next day.

Ole Miss will have December 8 penciled in as an important day

Teams will find out if they are in or out on December 8, 2024. The CFP selection day will include all 12 teams that make it in and their seeding.

Ole Miss has gone all in with its roster, looking to be one of the teams that will hear its name called on December 8. The Rebels schedule is favorable, with LSU and Georgia the toughest teams it will face.

They go at least 1-1 in those two games while winning the rest; they can put their name down for one of the top 12 teams at the end of the regular season. They still have a chance if they lose both of those games, but it will be a slim one.
