Ole Miss has two of the top ten returning tight ends in the SEC per PFF

Ole Miss tight end Caden Prieskorn was a big part of the Rebels' successful 2023 season. He and transfer Dae'Quan Wright are among the top returning tight ends in the SEC.

Ole Miss fans are looking forward to seeing this offense in action when the 2024 season begins. Quarterback Jaxson Dart, the running back, and wide receiver rooms are getting the majority of the hype. However, the Rebels' tight end position is being slept on.

Returning tight end Caden Prieskorn and Virginia Tech transfer Dae'Quan Wright are the focal points of the TEs at Ole Miss. Each of them offers something a little different to the offense.

One thing they have in common is that PFF rated them among the top 10 returning SEC tight ends. Per their grades, Dae'Quan Wright had the fourth-best grade, 72.7, with Caden Prieskorn also breaking the 70 mark, graded at 70.5.

Wright was an underrated commitment for Ole Miss this offseason. In his sophomore season, he had 366 receiving yards from 28 receptions with the Hokies. The Georgia native was a four-star prospect who ran an 11.14 time in the 100 meters as a high school junior. Wright is athletically gifted and will be a huge asset in the passing game for Ole Miss in 2024.

Tight end Caden Prieskorn's return was significant for Ole Miss

Of course, getting Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris, and Jordan Watkins back for the 2024 season was important for the Rebels. However, Caden Prieskorn's return was just as significant.

Prieskorn missed the opening few weeks of the 2023 season, recovering from an injury. Despite decent production for the team, he still wasn't right during the few games after his return. However, Prieskorn looked in peak fitness during the Peach Bowl victory over Penn State.

Prieskorn scooped the offensive MVP, making ten receptions for 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns. If Ole Miss can expect these performances from a fully fit Prieskorn, then the ceiling is very high.
