Ole Miss landed a commitment from Houston transfer cornerback Isaiah Hamilton.

The spring transfer portal closed at the end of the day on April 30, but Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin was still actively strengthening the roster. With Amorion Walker's departure back to Michigan, the cornerback position looked like an area that needed a player.

As is the norm in the off-season, Kiffin beat out other top programs to secure Houston cornerback Isaiah Hamilton. The senior chose to commit to the Rebels, turning down offers from Michigan, Missouri, and Alabama, where he was set to visit this weekend.

In his lone season with the Houston Cougars, Hamilton had 50 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 4 pass break-ups. He played at Texas Southern in his previous three seasons but did not feature in his freshman season. In his two seasons as a starter, he totaled 40 tackles, 7 interceptions, and a sack.

Hamilton will land in a cornerback room alongside two experienced corners: Alabama transfer Trey Amos and Tenessee transfer Brandon Turnage. The Rebels also have inexperienced talent in Chris Graves and Jarell Stinson. The room looks to be in a position Kiffin and secondary coach Bryan Brown are happy with.

Ole Miss could still actively look for an Edge player and, surprisingly, a wide receiver. Kiffin is not done yet building the roster for the 2024 season.
