Several high school recruits stood on the sidelines at the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this past Saturday, watching Ole Miss dominate FCS Furman. I wouldn't say it was top gear, but it was enough to show recruits that the Rebels are a team that doesn't let up.
Two of the many prospects on the sidelines were high school teammates out of California. Class of 2026 quarterback Luke Fahey and wide receiver Vance Spafford play at Mission Viejo High School and were impressed with their Ole Miss gameday experience.
It was the second time both had visited Oxford, after visits over the summer. Both are top targets for the Rebels but are in no rush to make a decision, with quite some time before they attend college, being 2026 recruits.
What did Fahey and Spafford have to say about their weekend visit?
Luke Fahey, a four-star prospect and ranked the No.15 quarterback in the 2026 class per 247Sports Composite Rankings, was extremely high on Ole Miss. The gameday visit cemented that with nothing but positive words about the program.
"“This visit did help Ole Miss because I was glad I was able to make it down and watch them firsthand and in person. I got to feel the atmosphere and stuff like that. I love everything about them and I am super high on them.”"Luke Fahey speaking to On3
Wide receiver Vance Spafford, his teammate, is also a four-star prospect and the No.15 ranked wide receiver in the 2026 class, per 247Sports. Speaking to On3 days before he visited Ole Miss, Spafford spoke about why he is so high on the Rebels.
"“Ole Miss is big on my list. “It has been my dream school since I was little. I don’t even know why, but I think it came from watching Blindside. All I know is, since I was really young, I always really liked them. Then they have those blue jerseys, and blue is my favorite color, so it is kind of crazy, but I have always been a fan of Ole Miss.”"Vance Spafford speaking to On3
After his gameday visit, Spafford spoke to 247Sports, saying, "It definitely could be home for me." Both recruits have plenty more visits ahead of them and want to return to Oxford in the future.
