Ole Miss is 4-0 after nonconference play, and plenty of the media is waiting to see them against much tougher opponents. The team can only face what's in front of them, but could they face a step up in competition when they face Kentucky today?

The question for the Rebels is: Which Kentucky team will they face? The Wildcats side had 183 offensive yards against South Carolina and only allowed 252 yards, but they lost 31-6. Or will we get pipped by Georgia 13-12, who arguably should have won the game at Kroger Field?

The Kentucky defense played at a high level in both games, holding the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs to under 265 offensive yards. The Ole Miss offense is a step up for them. Can the Wildcats hold this high-tempo offense to under 300 offensive yards? If they can, then they will give themselves the opportunity of an upset win.

In both games, Kentucky's offense has struggled to get going. In their two SEC games in 2024, they have zero touchdowns and six field goals. The problem has been the passing game, and with Ole Miss looking formidable against the run, it's difficult to see how the Rebels won't win this game.

The only way they lost is if complacency slips into their play. Over the last few games, we have seen several mental mistakes. Especially against Wake Forest in the 40-6 win in Week 3, which, against opposition like Kentucky, could become a much closer game.

If Ole Miss plays to its abilities, it should move to 5-0. However, it still needs to be cautious of what this Kentucky defense is capable of. The game is live at 11:00 a.m. CT on ABC.
