Ole Miss wide receiver Jordan Watkins did not appear on the gameday depth chart and will not play in the week 1 game against Furman. This is a blow for the Rebels, but it was a possibility, with Lane Kiffin suggesting that Watkins and Antwane Wells were questionable for the game earlier in the week.

Wells did make the depth chart and will suit it, but he could still see a snap count. Sophomore wide receiver Cayden Lee will step in for Watkins, with Josh Aka listed as the backup. Lee had five receptions for 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns in his freshman season, so he is capable.

If Wells is limited during the game, another sophomore, Ayden Williams, could see a higher snap count. Tre Harris will lead the receivers, with Micah Davis and freshman Noreel White listed behind him.

Two other players listed as questionable make the depth chart, with Princely Umanmielen listed as a starter and linebacker Chris Paul listed as a potential starter with Khari Coleman. Louis Moore or Jadon Canady will play nickleback, while Trey Washington will be the starter in free safety.

The surprise on the depth chart was that redshirt freshman quarterback Austin Simmons was listed as the bac-up to Jaxson Dart, with Walker Howard third. The only offensive lineman to be slated without the or next to his name was right tackle Micah Pettus.

The game between Ole Miss and Furman will kick off at 6:00 PM CST and be broadcast on ESPN+.
