Recruiting news roundup for Ole Miss football in May

On the recruiting front, May has been a quieter month for Ole Miss football. What were the significant bits of news for Lane Kiffin and the Rebels?

The big news from May was about current wide receiver commit Jerome Myles. The Utah product, courtesy of 247Sports, moved from a four-star to a five-star prospect. The new ranking made him the No. 5 overall wide receiver and No. 31 player nationally.

Ole Miss looks to dip into the Utah talent pool again

Utah is not known as a hotbed of talent. However, Lane Kiffin is eyeing up a second commitment from the Beehive State. Four-star offensive lineman Darius Afalava received an offer from Ole Miss. Afalava is ranked the No. 24 inside offensive lineman per 247Sports composite rankings.

Ole Miss sent plenty of offers out this month, the majority to 2026 and 2027 recruits. 2026 four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle of Alabama and 2026 four-star defensive lineman Jesse Ford. Both players are highly regarded and hold offers from several top schools alongside Ole Miss.

Lane Kiffin receives 2025 cornerback commitment early in May

On May. 6, Ole Miss received its eighth commitment of the 2025 recruiting recruiting class. Three-star cornerback Maison Dunn committed to the Rebels over LSU and rival Mississippi State. Dunn was ranked the No. 67 cornerback per On3s Industry Rankings. 

It was Lane Kiffin's third 2025 commitment out of Mississippi while also sitting in a good position for several more. With a high-quality class of players coming from in-state in 2025, Kiffin is heavily targeting it and doing a solid job early.

Ole Miss targeting third wide receiver commit after visit

Ole Mis already has two top 2025 wide receiver commits but is working to gain a third. Ti Mims is a player the Rebels like working hard to grab a commitment from the three-star prospect. Mims took an official visit to Oxford on May.19, leaving impressed with how it went.

The Rebels have also scheduled an offensive visit for June 21 with four-star offensive tackle Connor Howes. 247Sports has Howes ranked the No. 30 OT in America.
