We knew before the game that Ole Miss had plenty of recruits visiting for the season opener against Furman. Head coach Lane Kiffin's decision to go full throttle in the 76-0 win wasn't to impress the watching high school prospects, but it did double up that way.

Alongside some already committed recruits, the Rebels also had some top 2025 and 2026 players on campus, looking to take the edge in their recruitment. 2025 safety. Ladarian Clardy, who will announce his commitment on September 21, was alongside 2026 Californian QB-WR duo Luke Fahey and Vance Spafford

Current defensive lineman Walter Nolen had his family at the game, including his brother, Warren, a class of 2025 offensive lineman. While recruiting new players, the Rebels don't want to lose any pace on players already committed, with Cortez Thomas, Jarcoby Hopson, and others in attendance.

What did recruits have to say about the performance

Zach Berry of On3s OMSpirit spoke to several recruits at the game and those who did not attend who Ole Miss is recruiting and who have already committed. One of the top 2026 recruits from Mississippi, JaReylan McCoy, who recently cut his list down to 6, was impressed with the defensive line.

"“They got some sharks on that line. It was crazy, 76-0. Coach (Randall) Joyner and I were having a conversation on why the Sip is one of if not the best college in the SEC.”"

Ole Miss had several players at the game already committed to the program, with four-star linebacker and Mississippi native Jarcoby Hopson enjoying watching his past high school teammate making plays.

"“Great game. They look like a championship team on both sides. I was happy to see my teammate Big Kam (Franklin) get his first college sack. I didn’t care about the score, I was more focused on how well they played together.”"

Alongside the performance, it was great to hear positive talk about the program from recruits. The atmosphere was great, but wait till they attend an SEC home game, which will see Ole Miss in a different light.
