SEC team working hard to keep hold of their top quarterback commit from the 2025 class

You can only be comfortable keeping hold of your top recruits once they sign their letter of intent in December. Texas A&M is working to ensure their 2025 quarterback commit gets to December still an Aggie.

The 2025 class has some talented quarterback recruits. The top 10 ranked players are all committed to schools. Six of those ten are committed to SEC schools, including Husan Longstreet, currently a Texas A&M commit.

Longstreet, a five-star prospect, is ranked the No.4 quarterback in the 2025 class by 247Sports. He committed to Texas A&M on April 14 over teams such as Auburn, Ole Miss, and Oregon. It was reported yesterday that his home state team, USC, has formed a strong relationship with the quarterback from Corona, California.

Steve Wiltfong of On3 said Longstreet is firm in his commitment to the Aggies, though he had been talking to USC quarterbacks coach Luke Huard at the Elite 11 Finals.

The noise around Longstreet has materialized due to the situation surrounding the USC quarterback commit, Julian Lewis. The No.7 ranked quarterback in the 2025 class has been committed to the Trojans for some time. However, there has been a buzz around a potential decommitment from Lewis, with Colorado mentioned as the team looking to flip him.

Wiltfong said that USC is monitoring Longstreet just in case Lewis decides to decommit, saying, "If you're talking to somebody else, we are talking to somebody else." We will see if anything more comes from the reports, but Longstreet is fully committed to Texas A&M.

Is Deuce Knight also a potential flip candidate?

For a few months, we have seen that Ole Miss is a team looking to try flipping in-state prospect Deuce Knight. Currently committed to Notre Dame, the four-star quarterback has always indicated he is happy with the Fighting Irish.

Auburn has been reported to be in the mix for Knight now, with Wiltfong recording an expert prediction that Knight will flip his commitment to the Tigers. It's a strong suggestion when the On3 recruiting expert makes such a prediction.

Ole Miss had a crystal ball placed for the same from David Johnson on 247Sports Inside the Rebels, but nothing more substantial happened. We will see if any of the top quarterbacks flip their commitments. As of now, things seem to be bubbling under the surface.
