Lane Kiffin is facing a second lawsuit in the past year, this time from Dr. Keith Bell, a psychologist and author. Bell is suing Kiffin for copyright infringement regarding two social media posts made in 2016 and 2022.

An article from The Clarion-Ledger, reports the lawsuit indicates that Kiffin "retweeted" a passage from Bell's 1981 book titled "Winning Isn't Normal." The second infringement was in 2022 when Kiffin posted a passage under the heading "WINNING ISN'T NORMAL."

In the lawsuit, it was written that Bell had sent Kiffin Cease-and-desist letters following both posts and that the Ole Miss head coach failed to comply with the demand in 2022. It's not the first time Bell has filed copyright lawsuits, with The Clarion-Ledger reporting he has at least 12 since 2020.

""I didn't really pay attention to it, I'm not supposed to comment. I mean, what are we talking about? I will just say, I've never read the book. I don't even remember the quote that I tweeted or something. I'm not supposed to say that either.""

The lawsuit was filed last week in the Oxford Division of the Northern Mississippi District of U.S. District Court. Bell's reasoning was using the "Winning Isn't Normal" passage is a financial benefit, alongside his social media having an impact on recruiting.

We will see the next move for Kiffin, with the likelihood that he will challenge the lawsuit, suggesting that the tweets were noncommercial and that the posts were not profit-oriented. The lawsuit will likely not be settled anytime soon, with plenty of back and forth from both party's respective lawyers to come.

Kiffin looks to have not been affected by the situation, with total concentration on the season ahead. Ole Miss play their week 1 game against Furman on August 31 in Oxford.
