Two SEC defensive backs announce they are transferring to Ole Miss Football
Ole Miss had a double commitment last night in the form of two SEC defensive backs. Tennessee's Brandon Turnage and Alabama CB Trey Amos both confirmed they were committing to the Rebels.
Lane Kiffin had a double commitment yesterday, with both announcements coming hours apart. The first was Tennessee defensive back Brandon Turnage, with the second an Alabama cornerback, Trey Amos.
Trey Amos was rumoured to be committing to the Rebels when images appeared on social media of him in an Ole Miss uniform. There was also Pete Nakos of On3, who predicted that Amos would be committing to the Rebels.
Amos featured in all of Alabama's games last season and was slated to be a starter again this coming season. Amos finished the season with 12 tackles and five pass break-ups. He had previously spent three seasons with the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns.
Before the announcement of Trey Amos, Tennessee transfer Brandon Turnage announced he would be heading to Oxford to join Lane Kiffin's roster.
Brandon Turnage, who spent time at Alabama, transferred to the Volunteers in 2021. In his three seasons in Knoxville, Turnage totalled 48 tackles, six pass break-ups and one interception.
Both players add a wealth of experience to the Ole Miss backfield, something that will be important when the big games arrive in 2024.
Lane Kiffin is not done, with two Washington transfers set to visit Oxford next week. As many Ole Miss fans keep posting on social media, something is happening!
