That New Year's trip to the 'Big Easy' is proving to be anything but. While the Ole Miss and Georgia fanbases are bustling with excitement to be a part of the most exciting College Football Playoff matchups on New Year's, they hardly saw it becoming a wallet-drainer.

The Sugar Bowl's late-kickoff time, plus the New Year's, and not to mention the New Orleans location, all shaped the CFP quarterfinals' ticket prices to be a king's ransom.

The Caesars Superdome rematch reportedly has the highest 'get in' price among all other quarterfinal Bowl games. In other words, the cheapest ticket for the Sugar Bowl is the most expensive in all four Bowl games.

Ole Miss vs. Georgia prices are through the roof

The cheapest Sugar Bowl ticket in the secondary market is currently prices at $243.

Looking at the price of opther Bowl games, like the Rose Bowl at $155, followed by the Orange Bowl at $83 and then the Cotton Bowl at $80, it is clear why the tickets to the Superdome are the real budget buster.

And that is just the 'get in prices'; add transportation and equally hefty hotel rates, plus New Year's price surge on drinks and dining in NOLA, and as a family, you could easily be looking at spending north of $1500 for the trip.

All that said, either of the teams, especially the Georgia fans, is no stranger to insanely expensive ticket prices. The only thing left to see is whether it will be the Georgia fans dominating the venue or the Ole Miss fans.

Given that it is a clash of Georgia and Ole Miss in the South on New Year's, the hype seems justified.
