A 24-19 win against LSU brought out the best in the Ole Miss offense, and there was one in particular who laid the groundwork for LSU's defeat right alongside QB Trinidad Chambliss.

And as the next opponents of the 5-0 Rebels, RB Kewan Lacy is a threat Washington State can't ignore.

LSU's secondary, which was ranked as high as No. 2 in the SEC for scoring defense, did everything they could to disrupt the flow between Lacy and Chambliss, but there was no stopping them. The star running back finished his night in style with
3 carries for 87 yards and one touchdown.

Lacy forcing six missed tackles and averaging 4.1 yards overall per carry made his numbers against LSU his best days so far this season in terms of production.

"Kewan’s really good," Coach Kiffin said about Lacy in his post-game presser. "And Trinidad’s a really quick runner. So those will help you when you’re trying to close out games because you’ve got to run the ball."

"And so that’s a good combination to have, you know, in what you call like the four-minute offense. Those are always a problem on defense. Just like when we play, if they got a really fast running back and a really quick quarterback, they’re a lot harder to defend."

Lacy ranks No. 2 in SEC in rushing yards with 445, the highest of all Ole Miss players on the list. Leading WR Harrison Wallace III is No. 6, Deuce Alexander is No. 12, TE Dae’Quan Wright is No. 18 and Cayden Lee is No. 28.

Even Chambliss gave Lacy a shoutout following the win. "The offensive line gave me a great pocket, and our receivers just made plays. Our running backs, Logan Diggs and Kewan Lacey, just ran it in. It was a great win," the QB said post-game.

Ole Miss is a heavy favorite against Washington State, and Lacy will be expected to have another big night -- possibly one surpassing his numbers against LSU, in another Saturday night showdown at the Vaught-Hemingway vs. the Cougars.
