Tre Harris likely won't play for Ole Miss again, officially out of the Egg Bowl
Ole Miss wide receiver Tre Harris has been officially ruled out of the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State, per ESPN College Football analyst Pete Thamel.
Harris left the field in the second quarter against Florida, re-injuring the groin that had kept him out for a month previously. The Rebels' post-regular season is still unknown, but it's likely the last time we will see Harris on the field for Ole Miss.
Sad end to Tre Harris' time with Ole Miss
Ole Miss has a slim chance of making the playoffs, but the likelihood is that they will compete in a bowl game during December. Harris likely won't play in the game if that is the case. He wouldn't want to jeopardize his NFL draft stock, as he will be among the top wide receivers drafted in 2025.
Players who declare for the draft usually don't play in a bowl game, but it's not unheard of. If Harris wasn't carrying an injury, he's the type of player who would play. However, if he accepts his invitation, he may try to heal up and be ready for the Senior Bowl in February.
If Harris doesn't make another reception for the Rebels, he will leave the program. In his two seasons with the program, he has accumulated 114 receptions, 2,015 receiving yards, and 15 touchdowns.
