Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss's injunction ruling brought a ton of clarity on how the 2026 NFL Draft board would look like.
Chambliss staying another year in college football means the NFL teams will have one less phenomenal QB to choose in the 2026 NFL Draft.
With just Fernando Mendoza as one of the elite QBs declaring for the draft this year, there was a high chance Chambliss could have been drafted as the QB2 and an early-to-mid first-round pick.
Did Trinidad Chambliss make the right call?
Since David Pollack considered Chambliss "the best QBs in all of college football" and " a Superman in the playoffs down the stretch," he feels that Chambliss could have definitely gone much higher in the 2026 NFL Draft.
"Did he make the right decision? I don't think so. Because I think Trinidad could have been the second quarterback in this class," Pollack said in his podcast See Ball, Get Ball.
However, all the talent he displayed in his single year in D1, plus everything more he would build in the additional year he got is enough to build him a draft stock that scouts can't resist taking off the board the first chance they get.
"But in next year's draft, he's not going to be drafted as high as he is in this year's class. So I think you weigh the pros and the cons that if you get drafted in that first round, you get that fifth year, which is a good thing for teams. So they're more inclined to come up there and grab you at the end of the first. But he's a guy that will be interesting to watch in the pros, doesn't have the measurables, but he is more than great in the college game."
Considering Chambliss has another season just like his previous one with Ole Miss, and not better, he would still have a scouting report good enough to make him QB1.
Then again, only time will tell whether staying for another year in Oxford was a wise choice or not.
