The Ole Miss Rebels are fighting back the almost unbearable Lane Kiffin circus with a resiliency that only Kiffin knows.

QB Trinidad Chambliss stepped up as a Rebel leader to tune out the drama and divert the Ole Miss fans' focus on where it should be in the final full week of college football season: the Egg Bowl.

While Kiffin has resorted to silence all along, Chambliss declared his conviction in his head coach and his leading the Rebels to wins in the future.

"To our fans, this team is completely locked in, living in the moment, and staying true to our 1-0 mindset for the Egg Bowl and future games. We are unbothered by anything about next year and fully trusting Coach Kiffin’s leadership to keep us moving toward our goals!"

The Egg Bowl would still be the focus, but there will be a silent tension lurking in Starkville among the Rebels' fans on whether it would be the last game with Kiffin as their head coach.

Chambliss is certain about Kiffin leading the Rebels in future games, a.k.a. post-season games this season, no matter what the next season might bring.

But will the program allow Kiffin to coach in the Playoff?

Chances are, Ole Miss will not hesitate to send Kiffin packing and appoint an interim head coach for the postseason, most likely DC Pete Golding, if he decides to take his talent to another school on Saturday.

Chambliss's resounding message makes Kiffin leaving the Rebels right before the College Football Playoff, a chance that he gave his blood, sweat, and tears for six years, so much more unimaginable.

There is also a ghost of a chance that Chambliss' message was what Kiffin has not been saying in the past few weeks. And, just maybe, he might come out with a loud "I'm not going anywhere" in the Egg Bowl win celebrations.
