Right after Ole Miss crushed Georgia in a 39-34 win, the transfer portal opened in full swing, piling up a responsibility of dual win on Pete Golding/

Now, along with preparing for a possible National Championship, Golding also needs to prepare for his 2026 season till the transfer portal closes on Jan. 16.

It would be Golding's first true shot at crafting his own roster after already assembling a fresh staff.

A few dominoes have fallen already, including Austin Simmons. There will be more to come, and we'll keep up with all the happenings here.

Below is an up-to-date tracker on Ole Miss' portal departures, commitments, and positions of need with all known targets listed.

Ole Miss transfer portal commits

  • Auburn CB Jay Crawford (Jan. 3)
  • Baylor LB Keaton Thomas (Jan. 3)
  • Florida CB Sharif Denson (Jan. 4)
  • Nevada Edge Jonathan Maldonado (Jan. 4)
  • Southern Miss LB Chris Jones (Jan. 5)
  • Colorado DL Jehiem Oatis (Jan. 5)
  • Florida DL Michai Boireau (Jan. 5)
  • LSU OL Carius Curne (Jan. 6)
  • Michigan TE Brady Prieskorn (Jan. 10)

Ole Miss players in the transfer portal

  • QB Austin Simmons (Committed to MIzzou)
  • OT PJ Wilkins (Committed to Wisconsin)
  • WR Winston Watkins Jr.
  • LB Jaden Yates (Committed to Houston)
  • OT Jude Foster
  • CB Rickey Fletcher
  • CB Chris Graves
  • IOL Eathan Fields

Analysis: The good thing is Ole Miss is not piling on losses in the transfer portal. The bad thing is that the Rebels will urgently need to start looking for quarterbacks this month and get the best one on board, with Simmons entering the portal and Chambliss waiting on his waiver approval.

Since Ole Miss's QB room doesn't have much depth, all they can rely on AJ Young, and the developments they make in the transfer portal.
