The 2018 Ole Miss football recruiting class has been on a roll and picked up momentum Monday with another huge defensive commitment.

Ole Miss football has been exciting over the past few weeks with anticipation of a huge final signing day. Of course, as NSD draws near the anticipation has increased with a number of players taking their official Ole Miss visits. Sunday before many players had even made it home from Oxford  the commitments began to roll in.

Sunday night line-backer Kevontae’ Ruggs of Montgomery, Alabama committed. Monday Ole Miss recruiting saw the commitment of Hamilton Hall of Atlanta, Georgia. Of course, just when it couldn’t get any better another commitment came Monday afternoon. This time it was from 4-star rated DT Noah Jefferson of Las Vegas.

Like the other commitments for the 2018 Ole Miss football recruiting class Noah Jefferson is a huge get for the Rebels. Of course, JUCO players are valuable to any football team  They bring more a little more experience and depth to a team and can make an immediate impact. Noah Jefferson is exactly that type of player and will be a great part of the Rebels.

Out of Arizona Western Community College in Yuma,Arizona Noah Jefferson is rated as a 4-star defensive tackle by Rivals. He has a rivals-rank of 5.8 and is listed as the N0.19 JUCO player in the nation. Of course, at 6’6″ and 320 lbs Jefferson is a beast and easily has the size to be a dominant DT in the SEC.

Jefferson is not just big but also has speed at the DT position. He plays low, uses his hands and feet well and is very hard to block because of his athleticism. Of course, you can watch his highlights and see for yourself he is a very good at DT, He plays the position very well and I believe we see him on the Rebels defensive line this fall.

Naturally, Jefferson was highly sought after by a number of top schools. Jefferson had offers from Arizona, Arkansas and Florida among others. However he committed Monday evening following his official visit to Ole Miss this past weekend.

Rebels Hit Big Again

For any Ole Miss football fan upset with the decline of Ole Miss defense in recent seasons, you should be happy. The intense focus which coach Matt Luke and staff have placed on the defense with this class has been impressive. Coaches Wesley McGriff and Freddie Roach have done an outstanding job scouting and recruiting the best talent available. It’s going to be a lot of fun watching this defense in the coming seasons.

Next: On The Recruiting Trail!

There is no doubt in any Rebels mind coach Matt Luke and his staff have been working hard. There is also no doubt they will continue to work on finishing out this class even stronger. Of course, getting players like Noah Jefferson is huge and could mean even more surprises as we get closer to NSD. Congrats to Noah Jefferson and coach Matt Luke and his staff. Be sure to stay tuned to OHT for more info on recruiting. Hotty Toddy!
