Ole Miss Football: Grove Grinder, Is It Football Season Yet?
After a very disappointing end to a great Ole Miss baseball season Ole Miss football can get here nearly soon enough for some fans.
Yes, Monday was a crappy day for Ole Miss baseball fans. But on the bright side it means we can now look forward to Ole Miss football. With all the hype surrounding Ole Miss baseball this season many Ole Miss football fans have been patiently waiting for the 2018 college football season. We have a lot to be excited about when you consider the Rebels have the top returning offense in the SEC.
Now we are less than three months away from another chance to watch the Rebels. 2018 could be a magical season for Ole Miss football and we are ready to see the Rebels in action. The Rebels open their season September 1st when they take on Texas Tech in Houston, Texas. The Red Raiders will be loaded for bear, pun intended.

Ole Miss Rebels Football
I appreciate college baseball and especially Ole Miss baseball. Am I disappointed from Mondays outcome? Yes, very. I’m certain there is not another Ole Miss Rebel who doesn’t feel the same way. 2018 was a great year for the Rebels and I’m very thankful to coach Mike Bianco and the Ole Miss baseball team for a great season.
Sure, there are opinions of how Mondays games should or could have gone but here at OHT we always try to look at the positives and will continue to do so. Since Monday night we’ve seen a number of Rebels selected in the 2018 MLB Draft. That is the sign of a very good and well coached team coming off an outstanding season.
The Rebels hit the 48 win mark which equals the best season in program history and is certainly a great mark. However, the more important story here is the success of this team in terms of the 2018 MLB Draft which saw 7 Rebels picked up. Those include a first, fourth and fifth round pick. There are young men who have helped Ole Miss baseball who have realized their dreams. Good luck to all the Rebels who were selected.
Back To Football
So now that we finally know the fate of Ole Miss baseball we can focus our attention to the upcoming football season. This season we will see one of the most vicious offenses in the SEC if not the nation. Of course, with SEC receiving leader AJ Brown and a very good arm in Jordan Ta’amu returning the Rebels will stand to have a great season. The Rebels offense should be fun to watch in 2018.
Naturally, it’s obvious there will be questions about defense as we head into the season. After seeing this team in the spring we have to believe those questions will be answered. On September 1st when the Rebels open the 2018 season we find out. The defense improved greatly throughout last season and this season with added depth and experience should be much better.
Of course, OHT has already made some predictions so we believe the Rebels are much better heading into the 2018 season. So what if I might have to eat a little crow. It certainly won’t be the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Ole Miss football is back in action September 1st in Houston, Texas as they face the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Hotty Toddy!
