Ole Miss Football: Luke Adds Another Commitment To 2019 Class
The 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class continues to add up the commitments with the verbal from a big Alabama defensive tackle.
The month of June saw a huge recruiting surge for the 2019 Ole Miss football recruiting class. Now in July Matt Luke and the Rebels have added yet another to the list. Monday saw the commitment of Patrick Lucas Jr of Wetumpka, Alabama. This commitment pushes the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class to 23 commits. Once again the Rebels have the 14th ranked class in the nation and are ranked 6th in the SEC.
Coach Matt Luke and his staff have been racking up the commitments and the focus has been split even. Of the 23 commitments 11 are defensive players. Patrick Lucas Jr became the third defensive lineman to give the Rebels a verbal to play Ole Miss football. So far Matt Luke and his staff have done and excellent job with the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class.

Patrick Lucas Jr is rated as a 3-star defensive tackle and is listed at 6’3 and 282 lbs. The big Alabama DT is very athletic for his size. He is very hard to block and distributes his weight well against blocks. He also has great speed for his size and uses his feet and hands well.
Lucas Jr is a very aggressive pass rusher and plays the run well. You can check out his highlights and see he will be great for the Ole Miss defensive line.
The 2018 Ole Miss class saw a mass migration of defensive linemen to Oxford. In total the Rebels defensive line has 6 defensive linemen added to the depth chart. Lucas Jr will be another key in the cog for coach Freddie Roach and the defensive line depth.
