Now two weeks into the SEC schedule No.18 Ole Miss basketball has had two players named SEC Player of the Week and this time it is Terence Davis.

Its been really hard not to get excited over coach Kermit Davis and No.18 Ole Miss basketball thus far into the season. The Rebels (13-2, 3-0) have won all three of their SEC games and two of them have been against AP Top-20 teams with wins over No.10 Auburn and No.14 Miss State. Both of those games were enough to place the Rebels at No.18 in the AP.

Last week we watched the Rebels take the SEC opener on the road against Vandy and then follow-up with the win over Auburn. Junior Breein Tyree was recognized this past week for his performance over Vandy and now senior Terence Davis is being tabbed for his week in SEC basketball. Terence Davis has been announced as SEC Player of the Week.

Senior Terence Davis was selected as SEC Player of the Week for his performances in the Ole Miss wins over then No.11 Auburn and then No.14 Miss State. In the win against Auburn Davis had 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Against Miss State Davis added 12 points going 5 for 10 from the field. In both games Davis hit 56.0% of his shots going 14 of 25. His performance against Auburn placed him in the Top-25 leading scorers in Ole Miss basketball history.

Davis currently leads the Rebels in 3-point field goal percentage, rebounds and assists. Davis hits 42.0% of his shots from beyond the arc while also pulling in 5.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. We should be very happy to have Davis on the floor this season.

Davis and his decision to forego the 2018 NBA Draft to return for his senior season was a great one for the Ole Miss basketball program. Davis is a solid leader for the Rebels and his SEC experience will pay off huge for coach Kermit Davis throughout the rest of the college basketball season.
