This is an exciting time to be a fan of Ole Miss athletics in general and with NSD less than a week away this is an exciting time for Ole Miss football.

After a disappointing 2018 Ole Miss football season we have been able to enjoy watching Ole Miss basketball as the Rebels have been surprising to say the least. Coach Kermit Davis and the Rebels have been fun to watch and this team is far better than the Rebels we watched on the court last season. The Rebels have 12 regular season games left and are poised to be in the postseason.

Then we are just over two weeks away from the beginning of the 2019 Ole Miss baseball season which begins February 15th in a weekend series against Wright State. The Rebels are ranked in the Top10 in many of the preseason polls and are returning much of the Rebels lineup from 2018. This spring could prove to be the season Ole Miss baseball fans have been waiting for and a trip to the CWS could be waiting for the Rebels.

Of course, we are also less than a week away from national signing day for the 2019 Ole Miss recruiting class. The Rebels currently have the No.25 class in the nation and could see that ranking get much better depending on who we see ink with the Rebels on February 6th. We’ve already seen coach Matt Luke find success in the early signing period and we can be sure he wants to close out this recruiting class on a strong note.

I know we are all somewhat tempering our expectations just before national signing day but there was a lot of action on campus this past weekend. While there were a few question marks revolving around some of the official visits Sunday evening for the most part the weekend was deemed successful or at least we anticipate the end results will be good. Many Ole Miss football fans have already deemed this class a squash but we should remain confident.

Next. The GOATS of Ole Miss. dark

Of course, we wait, watch and anticipate great things for all the Ole Miss athletics programs and most are doing much better now in 2019. This is an exciting time to be a Ole Miss Rebels fan and we can count on more excitement to come as 2019 progresses.
