The WR Position

The NWO lost three 2018 WRs to the 2019 NFL Draft so naturally Rebels fans have been itching to see who would step up Saturday. After the 2019 Grove Bowl we may not have to worry quite so much. OHT was wanting to see how several Rebels would do Saturday and we weren’t really surprised by what we saw. We expected a lot from a couple of Rebels and we saw it as well as the emergence of a new slot receiver.

Sophomore RB/DB and now WR Tylan Knight shined in the offense Saturday racking up 91 receiving yards and 1 TD on just 5 receptions. Knight we know has had a good spring and has found his spot in the Rich Rod offense. Sophomore WR Elijah Moore was also very good Saturday with 8 receptions for 79 yards while junior Braylon Sanders, who was limited in the game in a white jersey had 3 grabs for 16 yards and 1 TD.

Other WRs we saw Saturday were JUCO transfer Dontario Drummond who had 3 catches for 38 yards and red-shirt freshman Miles Battle who had 2 receptions for 17 yards. Also in the receiving mix Saturday were TEs who look to be good in 2019. Senior Octavious Cooley had 2 receptions for 33 yards while senior Jason Pellerin had 2 catches for 19 yards. Most Rebels fans were hoping we would see Rich Rod use the TEs in the passing game.
