With substantial proof, we know Ole Miss football has become NWOU and since we are looking at the 2019 Rebels, OHT takes a look at the Wide Receivers.

OHT has been taking a look at the 2019 edition of Ole Miss football by each position group. We started on the offensive side of the ball looking at tight ends and running backs in coach Rich Rod’s arsenal of weapons. However, one of the most exciting offense position groups are the Rebels wide receivers.

Over the past number of seasons we have watched as the wide receivers have put up big numbers in the Rebels passing offense. Now with new offensive coordinator Rich Rod at the helm we may see even bigger numbers from the NWO going forward. With graduation and the NFL Draft the NWO will have a much newer look in 2019 so OHT looks at the wide receivers.

While the NWO took a personnel hit from 2018, the new NWO proves to be as equally exciting in 2019. The Rebels will be without Brown, Metcalf and Lodge this season but we do have great receivers who will have to step up in 2019. Sophomore Elijah Moore finished out the 2018 season with 36 receptions for 398 yards and 2 TDs.

Junior Braylon Sanders is another Rebels WR who should play heavily into the Rich Rod receiving corps. Sanders finished the 2018 season with 16 receptions for 271 yards and 1 TD.

Another WR who will be a big target for QB Matt Corral is redshirt freshman Miles Battle. Despite his redshirt status in 2018, Battle finished the season with 2 receptions for 18 yards.

Redshirt freshman Demarcus Gregory will likely work into the receiving mix for the NWO as will freshman Jadon Jackson and junior Dontario Drummond who was a top receiver for EMCC on the JUCO level in 2018.

The other receivers who are on the roster and available in 2019 are senior Ryan Drew and juniors Josh Ricketts and Jared Farlow. Also available are sophomores Drake Beck and Jacob Carter as well as red-shirt freshman Nevin Wells.

Ole Miss football fans realize we will have a much different NWO but the Rebels have great wide receivers who stand to have a great 2019 season. We look forward to the Rebels season opener against Memphis and see the NWO in action. Good luck in 2019 to the Rebels and the great Rebels wide receiving corps. Hotty Toddy!
