Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin was swamped with rumors of becoming the next Florida or LSU head coach as it is.

Colin Cowherd's take on which franchise should make Kiffin their next head coach added more to it.

"They got no alpha, they got no culture. Mike McDaniel's a great offensive coach? Ehh, come on. Here's why you go hire Lane Kiffin. No. 1 offense in college football last several years," Cowherd said on the latest episode of The Colin Cowherd Show.

Cowherd reasoned that Kiffin's familiarity with all the rookie players would give him the edge over other candidates.

"Half the SEC quarterbacks this year, all that first-round draft quarterbacks everyone's talking about ... four of the eight best quarterbacks are from the SEC. Lane recruited them, Lane faced them. Lane's looked at film of them.

"Nobody knows the SEC quarterbacks better than the current best offensive coach."

It is a good argument, and passing up on an offer from the NFL would be a lot tougher than a college football one.

However, given how seriously Kiffin has been building his team at Ole Miss for five years, the chances of him leaving for another job are next to zero, even if it is a call from the NFL.

"Lane Kiffin ain’t going nowhere man. We just know it's like social media," Ole Miss TE Dae'Quan Wright said of the rumors.

Even Kiffin attested to money or big offers not being his primary motive right now.

“I have never made a decision based off money, nor will I,” Kiffin said on ‘The Pat McAfee Show‘ earlier this week. “For a lot of people, they’re just like, ‘Well, money, and it does this and does that.’ I’ve seen too many examples in life where money does not buy happiness.

"So I’m never going to make a decision off of money, nor do I care about it. [My agent] Jimmy Sexton gets really mad when I say that.”

Only time will tell whether Kiffin leaves for Ole Miss or not.
