There were exactly two moments where Ole Miss basketball could have sealed a win against LSU on Wednesday night.

Not only did they fumble it, but they also added a loss to their historically embarrassing 10-game skid despite putting up one of the best fights they had this season in the double overtime thriller.

With seven minutes left on the clock in the second half, Ole Miss had a game-high 8-point lead (74–66). For a team on a 9-game skid, that sould have been the ultimate nail in the coffin to get a win.

Instead, the Tigers crawled their way up, and exploited them the very moment where the Beard's squad had a loose ball or two.

Of course it was brought up in the post-game presser, and Beard called out the flawed execution as always.

Chris Beard's top issue this season

"Without seeing the tape, I don’t want to be wrong here, but I think at the end of, at the end of the game regulation, we kind of had a broken floor," Beard said.

"Kind of a loose ball, we got the timeout. So the out-of-bounds play, have to go back and look at it. But I think AJ was open underneath the basket. We just missed it," he said of the missed opportunity at the end of regulation.

"Then the second play we were supposed to be screening our own man. And so Patton ended up in a tough spot. So, two mistakes into the first overtime. Did AJ Storr have the ball? Yes. Just employing AJ in those moments to try to get to the free throw line and stay away from the mid-range, but that’s not what happened," Beard added.

Storr had multiple missed two-point layouts in the second half. If he had made even half of them, the Rebels would have had the win under their belt without any OT fight.

Storr finished the night with 19 points, one of his better performances this season.

Improper execution and the wheels coming off towards the end have been the damning anchors holding Ole Miss down this whole season. Even Beard has addressed it multiple times.

We'll see if they can finally fix it, or atleast find a way around in the remaining three games in the regular season. That or they continue to bleed themselves dry.
