The buzzer in Minneapolis didn't just signal the end of Ole Miss women's hard-fought season; it marked the end of an era in Oxford.
With the sting of Sunday's loss still fresh, the focus now shifts to a daunting reality: Coach Yo is set to lose seven seniors, leaving a massive void in a roster that has spent the last five years becoming a March mainstay.
But that is hardly how she sees it. Instead, the Rebels' head coach revealed what she wants and plans for her '26-27 roster.
The keyword here was the change in season and players, but not the culture she has built in Oxford.
Everything Yolett McPhee-McCuin said about 'reloading' her roster
Here's everything Coach Yo said post-loss to Minnesota:
"I saw -- someone wrote up that Coach Yo is losing seven seniors so they'll have to rebuild. We don't rebuild at Ole Miss. We lost six last year and had the best start that we've ever had here at Ole Miss in my tenure, so we reload."
"My friends have this little slogan, if you want to go pro, go with Coach Yo. We look at our institution and our program as a pro prep."
"But when we talk about Ole Miss, I don't care what the perception is, you have to come and see for yourself. Oxford is a place that loves on their student-athletes. All their students, really. They love on them. It's a safe environment. It's an environment where you're allowed to grow and it's one where you really get to feel a home away from home."
"I think these young ladies continuing -- that's what I said to them in the locker room. Just thanks for taking a chance on me. Cotie could have gone -- Cotie had so many schools that wanted her, Christeen leaving from UCLA. All these young ladies had options, okay? And they chose to come here and be part of what we're doing here."
After all, Coach Yo's 'come check it out for yourself' was enough to draw ESPN analyst Stephen A Smith to Oxford; the least she can expect after a fiery speech like that, moments after a loss, is some calls from some of the hottest recruits across the country scheduling a visit.
