Did Lane Kiffin just tip his hand that he's going after Trinidad Chambliss?

The far-too-stretched-out Lane Kiffin drama is finally over, but the residual tensions are starting to kick in.

Kiffin left Oxford with a parting early Christmas gift as an open threat to poach Ole Miss's staff and roster. Right from his Day 1 as the new LSU Tigers coach, Kiffin has started his attempts at making good on his threats.

Lane Kiffin eyeing Trinidad Chambliss?

After moving to the Death Valley on Sunday, Kiffin was back at posting his daily motivational quotes on Monday morning, but the real shocker was the emojis that followed it. His primary target is, surprise, surprise, the Rebels' star player QB Trinidad Chambliss.

"Exhale. Have the best Monday ever," Kiffin wrote, sharing a Tiger emoji (of course) and a Trinidad and Tobago flag emoji.

The latter was his and the entire Rebels' fanbase's favorite way to celebrate Chambliss, but why now?

In Kiffin's case, the clues speak for themselves. They did speak in the middle of all the mixed signals he was throwing for the past few months as well, just that the Ole Miss fans were too naive and trusting to notice.

It was natural for Kiffin to set his sights on Chambliss, who is the offensive linchpin of the Rebels' offense.

Ole Miss blatantly refused to let Kiffin coach in the College Football Playoff, and his next supposed move is to go after one of their best offensive player just the week before the Playoff.

It doesn't take a genius to piece it together.

If Chambliss were to leave and shake hands with Kiffin before the Playoff, Ole Miss would lose a major part of its momentum. Sure, they will have Kewan Lacy and a talented WR room still, but most of them will also be on the 'transfer watch'.

All that said, the chances of Chambliss abandoning Ole Miss before the Playoff seem slim after the honest and open commitment he made in the last week.
