The reports are in, the stage is set. All that Lane Kiffin needs to do now is officially announce his decision about his future, which everyone knows what it will be at this point.
On3's Chris Low, Pete Nakos, and Brett McMurphy reveal what has been a done deal for Kiffin, along with the only thing that has been holding off the announcement.
Lane Kiffin wants Ole Miss to bend to his whims
Low, Nakos, and McMurphy revealed Kiffin's guaranteed interest in the LSU job. The official announcement would have come out yesterday itself, were it not for the outrageously unresonable demand from Kiffin.
BREAKING: Lane Kiffin intends to coach LSU in 2026, @clowfb, @PeteNakos & @Brett_McMurphy report🐯

What remains uncertain is whether he will be allowed to continue coaching Ole Miss in the College Football Playoff. https://t.co/aEC4zLYXc9 pic.twitter.com/4EgNRMafeq
The 50-year-old still wants to end his season with the Rebels, coaching them through the College Football Playoff. That alone has been the point of contention in the exit, making it much messier than it needs to be.
There is no way Ole Miss lets Kiffin coach in the Playoff after they have preached about it since LSU's contract leaked.
Momentarily, even if the Rebels let Kiffin coach the CFP, the Rebels' fanbase will go into an utterly chaotic meltdown. It is the direct consequence of months of hanging on the edge about Kiffin's future, only for him to go to Baton Rouge when the season ends, while still coaching them in the Playoff.
It is just as insane of a demand as it sounds.
Either way, Kiffin and Ole Miss officials ought to have resolved it during their almost 3-hour long meeting yesterday.
The wait for the official statement from Kiffin and Ole Miss still continues.
