The mid-November temperature plunge hit Oxford on early Monday morning, and the way Lane Kiffin let it be known echoed all the way to Auburn.
What it also did was send chills down the spine of the Rebel Nation with the thought of Lane Kiffin coaching in the Plains by the time the ice melts.
While he has seemingly mastered the art of dodging coaching carousel rumors, Kiffin doesn't seem to like sitting without any rumors swirling around him, either. That's why he doesn't wait around for rumors to flare up; instead, he does so himself.
Kiffin's tweet from Monday signaling a sudden drop in temperature in Mississippi, dropping below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, came with a caption that generated heat in the coaching carousel rumors.
"Freeze warning," Kiffin casually mentioned, knowing all too well what he was doing with the pun.

So far, Kiffin has proved enough to earn Ole Miss fans' trust about him not leaving the Rebels.
But then there are the mixed signals that can't let them rest assured. His delaying signing a contract extension with Ole Miss just makes it worse.
Never the one to address any coaching carousel rumors publicly, Kiffin has continuously dropped mixed signals, which are veiled just enough to make them seem like another regular, innocent post.
But this is Lane Kiffin we're talking about, the one who never misses any chance to stir the pot.
A Hugh Freeze quip from Kiffin, especially with his name making rounds as the next possible head coach at Auburn well over qualifies it for a mixed signal, one that will leave both Ole Miss fans and Auburn fans scrambling for more.
