With 68,251 record breaking audience cheering on him, Pete Golding didn't just win his debut game at Ole Miss; he found a home.
That 41–10 thrashing of Tulane wasn't just a victory—it was pure Rebel magic.
As Golding headed off the field, the chants of his name grew louder each second with a deafening applause filling the Grove.
Golding did what would be the only correct way to tip his hat at the elated Rebel Nation giving him a standing ovation: a visor throw.
The emotions were palpable when Golding gave AD Keith Carter a bear hug for putting his complete trust in him as Lane Kiffin's replacement.
Then came the electric visor throw into the audience, as Golding headed toward the locker room to celebrate his first head coaching win with the Rebs roster.

Crowd at Vaught-Hemingway mirrored Golding's energy
Golding's determination to get the Rebels off on a steady foot after the Lane Kiffin drama was clear from day 1.
Fast forward to gameday, the crowd in Oxford did not disappoint in mirroring the same energy.
Golding's stunning debut was not marked by just a record-breaking, sold-out audience, it was much more.
The crowd at Oxford also set a world record in honor of the festive spirit, where
every fan from the 68,002 in attendance found a Santa hat waiting for them on their seat.

Sports Illustrated reported, "According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the previous largest gathering of people wearing Santa hats belonged to the Los Angeles Angels, who handed out red holiday caps to 30,333 fans ahead of a game June 25, 2014 to celebrate the halfway mark to Christmas. Los Angeles beat the Twins that afternoon 6–2 at Angel Stadium."
That, and a few more broken records made Golding's debut a core memory for each Rebel fan on Saturday night.
