ON3 analyst J.D. Pickell released his predicted 12-team CFP rankings ahead of Week 12 release, and it won't sit well with Ole Miss fans.

Pickell predicted the Rebels to fall a spot despite having a shutout 49-0 against Citadel in Week 11.

It was Texas Tech that took the Rebels' No. 6 spot in Pickell's rankings.

Ole Miss Rebels will likely rank ahead of Texas Tech

While the Red Raiders also boast a 9-1 record, Ole Miss's strength of schedule simply outweighs that of Texas Tech.

The Rebels faced three ranked opponents this season; out of which they won against two, Oklahoma and LSU, and lost to Georgia with a single score difference.

The Red Raiders faced two ranked opponents in Utah and BYU, and won against both. Agreed, that the Red Raiders boost quality wins the the rest of their schedule, averaging around 33.2 points per game.

In the same vein, or in the same statistical comparison, the Rebels average for 37.5 points per game, with their total offense being the fourth-best in the FBS.

Them being the best Big 12 team is also a reason for them to have a spot in the Top 10, but Texas Tech actually getting a spot over Ole Miss seems like a long shot.

Ole Miss's win against Citadel, and also the ones before it would be enough for them to hold their No. 6 spot or give them an even higher ranking.

Indiana barely surviving against Penn State could also be a reason why the Rebels could jump up a spot or two.

The Week 12 updated 2025 CFP rankings are set to release Nov. 11, 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
