The 2026 college football schedule came out Thursday evening, and every Rebel fan circled one date in particular: Sep 19.

It is the day when their former head coach, who went on to become the villain of the season, comes back to Oxford.

Lane Kiffin is set to visit Oxford in the purple gear as the Tigers' head coach, as Ole Miss is set to open their SEC schedule with a home-game against LSU.

The unmistakable bad blood makes the tension leading upto the game much more palpable. Kiffin did not leave on good terms, so Oxford will make sure he feels it when he sets foot in the Grove once again.

Ole Miss, on the other hand, will do everything to get the Rebel Nation a revenge served cold.

Besides what will be the most anticipated game on the Rebels' schedule, Ole Miss plays nine conference teams starting in 2026. There will, of course, be their permanent conference opponents in Oklahoma and Mississippi State.

Ole Miss won't have it easy in 2026

The Rebels will open the season on either Sat., Sept. 5 or Sun., Sept. 6, with a neutral site matchup against Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Rebels will then return to the Vaught-Hemingway to open its home season against Charlotte before taking on LSU.

The Rebels then take on John Sumrall led Florida, followed by a precarious opponent in Vanderbilt.

After welcoming Mizzou at home and paying Sarkisian's Texas a visit in Austin, the Rebels await two more high-stakes clashes in Auburn at home and Georgia on-road.

That will be followed by a back-to-back return trip to Norman to take on Oklahoma before returning home for a non-conference matchup against Wofford.

After what would be an exhausting and quite tough schedule, Ole Miss finally completes its regular season against their in-state rivals, the Mississippi State Bulldogs, for the Egg Bowl a day before Thanksgiving, a classic disappointment for the Ole Miss fans.
