All the coaching carousel circus has now become a threat to Lane Kiffin having a shot at becoming the most winningest coach in the Ole Miss college football program history.
Kiffin's 54-19 record as Ole Miss head coach on the cusp of breaking the legendary John Vaught's record of being the most winningest coach in program history.
The 50-year-old needs just two more wins to get there. The winning part would be easy; it is the drama surrounding Kiffin leaving Ole Miss that threatens his chance at the record breaker.

Given Kiffin's winning streak this season, the Rebels are favorites to win the Egg Bowl, a win that puts Kiffin at par with Vaught's record.
Will Lane Kiffin get to break the record?
However, the real snag is whether Kiffin gets to play a game after winning the Egg Bowl at all.
According to what AD Keith Carter revealed, Ole Miss expects a decision after the Egg Bowl.
In a situation where Kiffin decides to leave Ole Miss, the next big question would be whether the Rebels allow him to coach the College Football Playoff.
If not, Kiffin won't have the win he needs to surpass Vaught. The sabotage could have been avoided had Kiffin clarified his intention of finishing his season with Ole Miss earlier.
Because now, the damage is done, even if he shouts the same statement from the top of the building.
"I didn't know any of that. That's pretty neat. Again, that's just a lot of players playing really well and a lot of assistant coaches doing a pretty good job here," Kiffin said when asked about breaking Vaught's record in his press conference on Monday.
"That is pretty historic numbers. So, that's a pretty neat stat, but that's credit to the players and assistant coaches."
Only time can tell how the future plays out for Kiffin and Ole Miss.
