Ole Miss football QB Trinidad Chambliss is climbing up the charts a lot faster than anyone thought.
It took the Ferris State transfer just three starts to secure a place on the elite QB table. But following the three very successful games stat-wise, Chambliss has already eclipsed some of college football's best signal callers.
The Ole Miss QB has taken over some of the most-hyped QBs like Arch Manning, Gunner Stockton, and other SEC QBs in total yardage six weeks into the season.
The Michigan native has averaged 10.2 yards in five games, totaling 1033 yards and five touchdowns.
According to the updated stats, a few others like Tennessee's Joey Aguilar, Vanderbilt's Diego Pavia, Texas A&M's Marced Reed, Alabama's Ty Simpson, and Rebels' in-state rivals' QB Blake Shepen are still ahead of Chambliss.
OU's John Mateer's 1215 yards also outdo Chambliss, but he is currently nursing a hand injury, which leaves him questionable for at least a few weeks this season.
This is just one of the many feats of Trinidad Chambliss
Eclipsing most of the SEC QBs is just an added feat to Chambliss books.
Three starts into the season, the Rebels QB got ranked as the No.3 QB in ESPN's Power 4 QB rankings.
Besides winning each game he started, Chambliss also became the only second SEC QB in 30 years to have 300+passing yards and 50+ rushing yards consistently for three games. The first was Jaxson Dart in 2024.
“It’s like a dream come true," Chambliss said Saturday in his postgame press conference. "It’s an amazing accomplishment. Got to thank God for that one, He’s been with me the whole time."
"I’ve got to thank [head coach Lane Kiffin] — the whole staff here at Ole Miss — for giving me the opportunity to come here and showcase my skill set, showcase what I can do.”
Now, the million-dollar question would be whether Kiffin gives Chambliss another start following their bye week or picks Austin Simmons as their QB1 instead.
