Ole Miss's 41β10 dismantling of Tulane yesterday was easily one of the Rebels' best looks all year. But for Pete Golding, this win was about way more than just the final score; it was about shattering the ceiling on what's possible at Ole Miss.
Besides the win, the most-buzzing topic of the town was Ole Miss breaking attendance records on Saturday, plus the Santa hat world record.
Those were just the highlights of the actual records Ole Miss broke in the first round of College Football Playoff.
Attendance and Santa hat world record
The Grove was the most-packed in history yesterday, as a massive crowd of 68,251 fans stormed the Vaught-Hemingway. Among the 68,002 in attendance found a Santa hat waiting for them on their seat.
The viral pictured of the Rebel Nation making rounds looks like a scene straight from a holiday football drama film, which could be the apt description of how the season has looked so far for the Rebels.
The 'Sipmas' moment dethroned the LA Angels' from the Guinness World Record book and got crowned as the world record holder.
Hey @GWR are you seeing this?!

Rebs create program history
The landslide win over Tulane marked the Rebels' 12th win this season, marking their first 12 win season in the long-standing program history.
And if that wasn't enough, Saturday marked Ole Miss's first-ever College Football Playoff win, in their first-ever CFP appearance.
The perfect cherry on top was the Red and Blue squad had that win in the Vaught-Hemingway, the first-time it ever hosted a postseason game.
Ole Miss has won 12 games in a season for the first time EVER.

And they did it by beating the best team in Louisiana.

Ole Miss also became one of the only four teams in the SEC to have 12 wins in a season since 2020.
Stat records
QB Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy's injury scare in the second quarter left the Rebels fans worried, but their comeback made it worth the roller coaster.
After returning, Lacy scored 2 rushing touchdowns, with 15 carries for 87-yards. H
Lacy's first touchdown was also the score that fired up the scoreboard for Ole Miss. It was the fastest any team had put up a score in the CFP history (59 seconds).

Alongside that, Lacy's two touchdowns, combined with one each from Chambliss and Logan Diggs pushed Ole Miss's season total to 36, breaking the schoolβs single-season rushing TD record.
Trinidad Chambliss bumps Eli Manning and Jaxson Dart down
After finishing off yet another night with massive numbers, Chambliss now boasts 3298 yards, 15th highest in the league, with 19 TD (tied-19th highest) and just three interceptions (tied 7th highest).
With that, Chambliss eclipsed the likes of the all-time Rebels passing legend in Eli Manning and Jaxson Dart, and etched himself as the 6th all-time for single-season offensive yards in program history.
All of that in just the first game in the Golding era.
