Ole Miss fans now know exactly how Georgia fans felt at the end of the Sugar Bowl.

Just this time, Ole Miss was on the other side, with a game-changing TD in the final seconds, knocking them out of the College Football Playoff race right before the National Championship.

What's worse was that the missed officiating calls curse followed the Rebs to the Fiesta Bowl as well.

The Rebels and the Canes kept the whole of Vegas on its tiptoes in 60 minutes of pure, unadulterated playoff chaos.

Ole Miss and Miami tussle in a cinematic showdown

The drama started right in the first quarter as Miami started the game not with scores, but by hammering Pete Golding's defense.

First quarter ended in a scoreless stalemate for the Rebels, while the Canes established an early 3-0 lead.

Then came the force named Kewan Lacy. On the very first drive of the second quarter, Lacy delivered a 73-yard house call that left the Miami secondary in the dust; a first for them as they haven't allowed even a 40-plus yard run all season in 14 games.

Beck made it up with a Td, but Lucas Carneiro stepped in to make up Ole Miss's score board deficit with a 42-yard goal, but ended up doinking the 58-yard attempt. Two touchdowns from Miami kept the 17-13 lead with the Canes.

Of course, the second half is where it all gets more interesting.

Miami's offense, mainly Malachi Toney and Mark Fletcher, continued drilling the Rebs defense. However, Chambliss got another chance in the third quarter to make up for the four-point difference. Another doinked kick later, Ole Miss was just one point behind the Canes.

The fourth-quarter madness

The fourth quarter was every every fan was at the edge of their seat. Another successful 21-yarder puts Ole Miss in the lead at the starting of the fourth quarter, but the thrill among the Ole Miss fans is quick to die down with a TD pass from Beck.

Chambliss puts up a gritty fight with a game-defining TD, followed by a successful two-point conversion attempt.

All of this is when the Rebels were just about four minutes away from winning the Fiesta Bowl. In the following two minutes, Beck and his team missed multiple opportunities, which Miami fans absolutely hated him for at that point.

With just 0:18 left on the clock, Beck scrambles for 3 yards, making them the first 026 National Championship contenders.

Still, Ole Miss has a few seconds to turn the script around yet again, which he did with an attempted pass to Stribling, which he missed due to a highly controversial call.

What a run it was for the Rebels!
