Ole Miss football just wants to get the 2024 college football season started. They aren't familiar with landing in top teams and player rankings so frequently during pre-season. Now, they want to show the nation that they aren't just part of the early hype.

That said, we are still only in June, over two months away from week 1 of the 2024 college football season. Awards and rankings are still being released, with Athlon Sports, the latest, dropping their First-Team All-SEC via their college football magazine.

Four Ole Miss players made First-Team All-SEC, all familiar names with rankings so far this pre-season. Tre Harris, Antwane Wells, Caden Prieskorn, and Walter Nolen were the four Rebels, with arguably more possibilities in our eyes.

All four players were brought in via the transfer portal over the last two seasons, proving head coach Lane Kiffin is the one true heir to the throne of "Portal King."

Walter Nolen was transferred in this off-season from Texas A&M. The talented defensive tackle was a huge get for Ole Miss, with a high-quality defensive lineman in a challenging position to acquire in the transfer portal. Antwane Wells was also part of the impressive transfer portal haul from Lane Kiffin, joining an already stacked wide receiver room for Ole Miss.

Tre Harris and Caden Prieskorn arrived before the 2023 season. Both players showed up after early injuries had them missing a handful of games each. Tight end Prieskorn was hampered by the injury until later in the season. He showed what he could bring to the team, going off against Penn State in the Peach Bowl Bowl victory.

Tre Harris was always going to make First-Team honors. He hopes to go over 1,000 yards in receiving this season after falling short in 2023. Not through the lack of talent, with Harris missing three games last season.
