Ole Miss football is showing they have a target on their back with a weekend of social media posts

After a successful 2023 season under Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss is set to take bigger strides into the 2024 season. Other teams and players are aware, with a couple of jabs this weekend from rival players.

First, it was former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins with a swipe at current Rebel Rashad Amos. Now, Oklahoma defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. has taken to social media to jab at Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart.

Dart has been throwing and coaching at this weekend's Manning Passing Academy alongside other college quarterbacks, such as Alabama's Jalen Milroe and Texas's Quinn Ewers. Each of the 40+ current college quarterbacks participated in different drills, with Jaxson Dart taking heat from a rival player.

Oklahoma defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. posted under a video shared on social media of Jaxson Dart throwing a couple of balls down field. Bowman Jr. posted "pick six" with a holding-in laughing emoji. Dart replied, "Yeah okay buddy, we gon see."

The post from Bowman Jr. may have been tongue-in-cheek. However, it shows that Ole Miss has a target on their back with all the hype they are receiving. To be fair to the Oklahoma defensive back, at least he has the stats to back up a remark. He has nine interceptions in two seasons, returning three for touchdowns during the 2023 season.

With still several weeks till the new season, don't be surprised to see more posts from players and analysts. Ole Miss has to ignore any disrespect and ensure people eat their words with performances on the field.

Jaxson Dart shows he has the skills to be a future coach

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has already praised quarterback Jaxson Dart for his ability to recruit and offer football advice. In a press conference back in March, Kiffin said Dart could be a future head coach if he wanted to because of his unique qualities and willingness to get people to follow him.

Dart showed at this weekend's Manning Passing Academy that he has that leader mentality. He was constantly seen giving advice to the younger generation of quarterbacks regarding throwing and other ways to improve.

In years after his time in the NFL, we will watch out for Jaxson Dart's appearance on a college football coaching staff.
