Just because a player is committed to a team doesn't mean other programs stop recruiting. Ole Miss showed that in December when they flipped 2024 quarterback AJ Maddox from Texas A&M.

Lane Kiffin has also flipped players in the transfer portal, showing a never-say-it's-done attitude. Ole Miss is still in the mix for several committed recruits. Can Kiffin work his magic on the class of 2025 players below?

Elijah Melendez, linebacker - Miami commit

Four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez has been committed to Miami since December 2023. However, his recruitment has been open since then, and he took official visits to Ole Miss and Oklahoma in June.

The No.19 ranked linebacker in the nation, per On3 Industry Ranking, was impressed by his visit to Oxford, saying, "It's hard to say no to family." Melendez recently took to social media to say his recruitment has been shut down. We will see if anything changes during the 2024 season.

Deuce Knight, quarterback - Notre Dame commit

Another player Ole Miss has kept recruiting hard despite being committed to Notre Dame is talented quarterback Deuce Knight. Knight, a top-five quarterback in the 2025 class, has also confirmed he is locked in with the Fighting Irish.

With Knight being a top prospect from Mississippi, Lane Kiffin will not stop recruiting the Notre Dame commit until they feel they have no shot. It wasn't long ago that a crystal ball was placed in for Deuce Knight to flip his commitment to Ole Miss. It would be a momentous commitment for the Rebels if it does happen.

Carson Lawrence, safety - Vanderbilt Commit

One of Tennessee's highest-rated recruits from the 2025 class, Carson Lawrence, has been committed to Vanderbilt since June 2023. Ole Miss offered Lawrence in January this year, and an official visit followed in June.

Rivals reported that Ole Miss took a massive leap for Lawrence, who is ranked the No. 28 safety in the 2025 class per the On3 Industry Ranking. We will see if this potential flip catches any more fire, with Ole Miss grabbing several safety commits in their 2025 class.
