Tight Ends have played a key role on great Ole Miss teams. This is a list of the top four from the last 30 years.
The position of tight end is a unique position in the offense of any college football team. He has the ability to line up as an extra offensive lineman with blocking responsibilities. He can line up as an H-back in the backfield. He could even line up next the offensive tackle and go out in a passing route or line up in the slot position like a wide receiver. If utilized well a tight end could be a valuable weapon.

Ole Miss has had its fair share of productive TEs. Each decade has produced great players who could be on the list of many fans. For instance, many long time Ole Miss fans may believe that Jim Poole may have been one of the best to play the position at Ole Miss.
Poole was one of Archie Manning’s favorite targets. His career number stands up against any that may be on this list. He is credited with 94 receptions with 1113 yards while pulling in four touchdowns. He is worthy to be on any list. But we’ve decided to condense our list to the best tight ends over the past 30 years.
Though much respect goes to those TEs who specialized in blocking, our list leans heavy toward those who made an impact in receiving. As with all list there is always room for debate. But, we can all agree that these four football players played an important part of any success the Ole Miss Rebels had over the past 30 years.
