With our hmm..neighbors, from the school below us, coming back into town tomorrow, there may be a chance of weird stuff. When you are a Ole Miss baseball fan, this is usually a week of strangeness, regardless of the season. Social media and imagination, which borders on schizophrenic, seems to surface at some point.

Don’t try to deny it, either you see it or it sees you. I’m a Ole Miss baseball fan and I’ve even had my own moment this week.  Thank goodness, I was able to back away from the computer and spend an afternoon fishing and thinking. You know what they say, I bad day fishing is still better than a good day on a computer.

Regardless of the outcome, at least the fact I’m a Ole Miss Rebel helps make either case better. Things could always be worse. If you want to see how bad it can be…just watch. No matter who wins this weeks series, there will be rear posterior hurt. Either way, it will be us or them and we will hear about forever. However, I’d love to see another bulldog sweep by the Rebels.

Just like when we swept the Bullys at Dudy-Noble Field. I will say now, I did have a great time meandering thru their left lounge. Needless to say, I was full as a tick by game’s end. Yes, there were shrimp.

We Are Ole Miss

So What Is Weird?

More from Ole Hotty Toddy

Nothing really, not this week anyway. This is the week all the Ole Miss baseball fans and MSU Bullys can expect it. You’d think it was the Egg Bowl week of football season, but it’s even better. It’s better because it’s baseball and it’s a 3 game series.

Think about it, baseball is a game played on red dirt, so you know it’s going to be good. Also, add that to it being an in-state rivalry, and it’s even better.

Then all you need are the shrimp and suds and it makes the strangeness funny. Well sort of. Personally, I know I would never turn down a good low country boil.

The Boiling Point

For myself, it has reached the critical level. Oh, I love my shrimp and craw-fish boils! Oh yeah, I have seen my friends at the craw-fish shack buying shrimp and craw-fish. So far, I’ve been invited to two…just two. One was St Paddy’s Day themed. What could make St Paddy’s Day any better than green craw-fish? Smh. The other won’t be until April 28th. I mean come on man! Did you really think in a town this small I wouldn’t know?

So now, with the OM/MSU weekend series coming up, I see some students buying shrimp at the craw-fish shack. Of course, I had to ask the question. Yes, they are planning a shrimp boil in Oxford during one of the games. Oh yeah, this could be really bad. Word has it, when MSU rolls into town there are always shrimp. I have no idea what they could be talking about.

I know this, if I don’t start getting some invites. Remember, tomorrow night isn’t far away ….just sayin’.

ARE YOU READY?
