The SEC East Is Promising

More from Ole Miss Football

Being a fan of the Ole Miss Rebels I’m a SEC West homer by heart. Although I do believe the SEC West is the better division of the two, I’m a fan of all SEC football. I have to admit the SEC West has some really great teams.

Of course, the SEC East has seen some huge coaching changes in recent seasons and the rise back to relevancy within the SEC has been difficult. For teams, like Florida and Tennessee, which are used to being in the championship conversation it has been a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs.

This season will be much of the same for many teams in the SEC, however there will be some bright moments for a few SEC West teams. The bad news is there will be some bumps and bruises for a couple of them this weekend. Let’s get down to the brass tacks and see what the SEC East is up against.

9/2                    Missouri 38 Missouri State 7

9/2                    South Carolina 28 NC State 35

9/2          (17)   Florida 24   (11) Michigan 35

9/2                     Kentucky 24 Southern Miss 21

9/2          (15)   Georgia 42 Appalachian State 17

9/2                     Vanderbilt 31 Middle Tennessee 28

9/4          (25)   Tennessee 35 Georgia Tech 20

In Closing

The SEC East finishes the opening weekend of college football season 5-2. Don’t allow this to worry you SEC East fans. The SEC East will be much strong with a few teams vying for a trip to the ATL. It’s just the first weekend and there will be a lot more football to come.
