AJ’s Yards After Catch

More from Ole Miss Football

There is no doubt AJ Brown is one of the very best, if not the best, wide receivers in the nation. Saturday night left many Ole Miss football fans forgetting another great ‘#1’ receiver who is now in the NFL. Yes, Brown solidified himself as a Rebel great when he broke the single-game record for receiving yards.

AJ had 8 catches for 233 yards and 2 TDs. As great as his total night was for the record books, AJ Brown’s most impressive stat was the YAC, yards after catch. I can’t recall the last time I saw a receiver break as many tackles and extend the play to the end-zone.

It’s easy to make comparisons about how much AJ looks like a bigger stronger version of Treadwell, however AJ’s efforts speak for themselves. Although AJ lists out at 6’1″ and 225 lbs he plays much bigger and did Saturday night.

In a recent issue of Rebel Nation Magazine, the headlines posed a question. I believe we got our answer Saturday night.
