Fast And Then Faster…

More from Ole Miss Football

Come on, we all know Saban loathes the up-tempo game. The key in this equation is Ole Miss thrives on up-tempo. Number two in the equation is Saban hates it. The up-tempo offense disrupts his happy place. That place is the Bama defense having a breather between plays. If the game speeds up then the Bama D isn’t getting air.

Saban believes in dominating every aspect of the game. When the game goes fast he loses control and we all know he doesn’t play that  well from behind. In fact, Saban’s record against the fast-paced offense has not reckoned well for St. Nick. Ole Miss has dominated the Tide in 10 out of the last 12 quarters of play.

The key to Ole Miss dominating the game is going fast. No, not just fast but very fast. If it confuses the Tide D in any way then it’s a win. The speed of the game goes to the victor and Ole Miss needs to control the speed of the game. It doesn’t matter about time of possession as much as it does raw touches. The more times Ole Miss touches the ball the more potent we are. Of course, there is a key to going fast.
